Ian Russ

I started a scratch agency with Farmers Insurance in 2003 and owned it for a little over 15 years which I sold in 2019. After selling my agency I became a successful project manager for a local roof company for the past 2.5 years. I then decided to get back into the insurance industry and do what I love the most, helping people protect their families and assets.

Born & raised in Colorado I grew up in Milliken and graduated from Roosevelt HS in 1991. That summer I broke into the sales world landing my first job with MCI Long Distance Company as a telemarketing rep. Through the years with MCI I worked my way up to middle management before leaving the company at the end of 1998. After that I was a stucco sub-contractor until 2003 but a lingering back injury forced me to find a new career. That is when I found my true calling in insurance. Building good relations with people and earning trust is essential when working with customers for their insurance needs, and this is what I do best. My knowledge of both insurance and construction is one of my biggest attributes in helping my clients select the right coverage.

My wife Cathy and I have 3 sons (Brad, Erich and Nathan). In 2006 we moved to rural Eaton where each of the boys went to school and graduated from Eaton High School.

I am a big outdoorsman and love to cook and BBQ with family & friends. I also enjoy watching our local school sports events, especially high school & college wrestling and UFC. In 2018 I discovered Crossfit and it has become my 2nd calling. If you’re up early enough you will find me at the Crossfit gym getting ready for the day!
